This is a selection of the most complex and expensive projects in my portfolio.
This is a selection of the most complex and expensive projects in my portfolio.
I really like to do complex projects. Here are some of them. Below I will tell you more about the photo of the Supra.
I based my idea on a simple concept: combining day and night, dynamics and static elements. In the city, you can cruise around in style in the evening and tear all car up on the track if you feel like it. The most challenging part was bringing this idea to life. The idea was suggested by Alexey, and he agreed to participate.
We sketched out ideas, selected angles, and gathered references. In the evening, we shot at the manufactory “Flakon” location. There was nothing particularly interesting there; I only needed the headlights, the car’s body at night, and some reflections. The next day, we went to the Moscow Raceway to burn rubber. However, we encountered one problem. We set up the car as we did in the evening at Flakon, but the wind was blowing in the opposite direction, so we had to relocate to the other side.
So, after two days of shooting, I had all the necessary source material: the car during the day and night, the race track, the asphalt, the smoke, and so on. I preselected almost all the required footage and assembled the car’s body, and then it was the retoucher’s job.
In total, I had 114 source photos and 566 layers in Photoshop.
It may sound simple in words, but in reality, it’s not. We were fortunate that everything depended on just three people, the locations were accessible, and the weather was fantastic.
For those interested, it was shot on a Canon 80D with a Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens.
