Product photography on a white background for a shoe brand
Not always do we have the opportunity to rent a photo studio with good lighting, and sometimes there’s not even enough space for shooting your product, for example, for a marketplace. When I started, I used to say to myself, “To take a beautiful photo, I need approximately 0 square meters.” And I wasn’t joking; with the right approach, you can take great photos almost anywhere. But I don’t like that and strive to improve the shooting conditions.
Equipment for photography on a white background. Flash or LED light
You don’t need a professional table for still-life photography. Expensive lighting from renowned manufacturers is great, but excessive for simple tasks.
All you need is a table (the bigger, the better), a light background (cardboard, paper, white flexible plastic), and a couple of light sources (continuous light or flashes).
LED light is good because you can even shoot with your phone. It’s also useful for video. So, you have a minimum set, and that’s already a great foundation for your photos. Yes, there are various softboxes, umbrellas, snoots, reflectors, and so on. You’ll get to them if you want to progress, but for good photos that any aggregator will accept, this kit is more than enough.
Additional accessories for photography: backgrounds, props, etc.
You can use not only a white background. As you can see, I used tiles, parquet, and stones – the optimal solution for shoes.
You can use your imagination and choose your props. Also, I shot videos on a rotating platform: yes, it’s simple, but it’s exactly what you need to show the product in detail. But if that’s not enough for you, I have a small story (but many photos) about how I worked with a flower shop brand.
