Creative Photoshoot Photography: Christmas Collaboration with a Bookstore

Creative Photoshoot Planning: What You Need for a Christmas shoot

Let’s start with a simple checklist for a successful creative Christmas photoshoot project:

  • A classic Porsche (just one will do)
  • A rug (one essential piece)
  • Fairy lights (three strands, at least)
  • Sparklers, champagne flutes, a bubbly substitute, tables, chairs, and various props
  • Books. Lots of them. The more, the better.

This kind of creative photography project relies heavily on details. Each prop helps build the atmosphere and tells a small part of the story.

Behind the Scenes of a Creative Photography Project

The whole process took several days. Around two to three days were spent on preparation, followed by the main shoot day and another couple of days for post-production.

For this creative photoshoot photography project, I worked closely with the owners of a local bookstore. They brought a large collection of books and helped arrange them around a classic Porsche, turning the scene into a festive Christmas setup.

Finding the right car, location, and props took time, but that preparation made the shoot run smoothly. Yes, being a creative photographer is not an easy job.

Creative Commercial Photography with a Christmas Twist

And yes, about the champagne – there simply wasn’t room in the budget for the real thing. So we got creative. The substitute had a similar colour and plenty of bubbles. If you guessed Sprite, you’d be right.

This project is a good example of how creative commercial photography doesn’t always require a big budget. With the right idea, collaboration, and attention to detail, you can create a strong visual story that works for brands, businesses, and seasonal campaigns.
