My hairstyle is not quite standard; not every hairdresser will take it on. But it’s not too complicated: just slightly longer hair, cascading down and slightly covering the ears.
How to ruin your hair
This story is not about this barbershop. Once, when my regular stylist was very busy and I urgently needed a haircut, I booked an appointment with a male barber at a barbershop. When I arrived and sat in the chair, I spent 1.5 hours watching fear in the barber’s eyes. Let me try to describe what happened. Imagine they simply combed my hair and trimmed around the perimeter with scissors in a “bowl cut” style. They charged me 25 pounds for this (my regular stylist charges 10 pounds), and they didn’t even refund the money.
In the end, I sent photos to my regular stylist, and she laughed and set aside a special hour for me to fix the disaster on my head. Well, I last had such a short haircut about 15 years ago.
Photography for a barbershop
It’s a shame that the guys I did this shoot for had already closed by that time. They started business after the coronavirus, and although everything was on the rise, the times were still tough. But let’s set aside the sad thoughts. I remember the day of the shoot vividly. I arrived and saw a cool space in Taganka with positive barbers and a pleasant manager.
They had several clients with different needs: haircuts, beard care, and hair coloring. Plus, I took a few shots of the interior, captured some details, and wrapped it all up with portraits of the barbers.
By the way, about interiors. Once, I photographed kitchens and cabinets for a furniture company.
