Art Photography London: A Personal Gallery Story
I love art. As a photographer, I’m constantly working on developing my visual taste, and I enjoy looking not only at photography but also at painting, cinema, and more. I’d long wanted to meet someone who runs a gallery in London.
One day, I had the pleasure of meeting Valentina Shaeva from the Russian Art Center, who owns a gallery in the Kensington area. When I visited, I also met the artist Gleb Skubachevsky and took a series of photographs for their gallery.

Gallery Photography London: Shooting Art on the Wall
One of the interesting parts of this shoot was that all the artworks were photographed directly on the wall. I didn’t remove the paintings or change their position in the space.
This approach works well for gallery photography London, especially when time is limited or the artworks are already installed for an exhibition.
I focused on clean framing, correct perspective and even lighting, avoiding glare, reflections or colour distortion.

Artwork Photography for Catalogues and Online Use
After the shoot, all images were carefully edited so the artworks appeared on a clean white background. The walls were removed in post-production, without affecting the texture, edges or colours of the paintings.
This makes the images suitable for:
- gallery catalogues
- artist portfolios
- websites and online exhibitions
- press and publications
This kind of artwork photography allows galleries and artists to reuse the same images across different platforms.

Photography for Art Galleries and Exhibitions in London
By the way, a New York publication wrote about this gallery and used my photographs, which was a great example of how important high-quality visuals are for visibility beyond the local scene.
Whether it’s a private gallery, an independent artist, or art exhibitions London, professional photography for art galleries helps present artworks clearly and respectfully, without distractions.
